Will Myofascial Release technique help?

Do you feel like you can never stretch your muscles ? Or that you always feel so tight ? Myofascial release techniques may help ! Myofascial release (MFR) is a type of manual therapy that focuses on releasing tension and tightness in the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds muscles, bones, and organs. When fascia becomes tight due to stress, injury, or overuse, it can lead to pain, restricted movement, and muscle imbalances.

Myofascial release involves applying gentle, sustained pressure to areas of restriction to help restore movement and relieve pain.  A therapist applies hands-on techniques, or individuals can perform self-myofascial release using tools like foam rollers or massage balls.

It’s commonly used to treat neck pain, headaches, shoulder issues, tight legs and low back pain. It can also help conditions like chronic pain, fibromyalgia, muscle tightness, and postural issues.

Both Physiotherapists and Registered Massage Therapists use this technique regularly. And they will give you some home exercises to help keep treatment gains. Teamwork !
